This guide outlines the critical prerequisites and steps required to prepare your local machine before integrating the HP SmartStream 3D Command Center with AMFG.
Following these setup instructions ensures that the AMFG Hub can properly communicate with your HP Command Center software to track live printing statuses and automate build callbacks.
π» Hardware & Software Requirements
Before beginning the installation, ensure your local computer meets the following baseline specifications:
Operating System: Windows 10 or later versions.
User Permissions: Administrative (elevated) privileges are required on the host computer.
π οΈ Installation Steps
Step 1: Install HP Command Center
You must have both server and client environments available on the local machine managing your production hardware.
Download and install both the HP SmartStream 3D Command Center Server and Client on your local machine.
Verify that you are running HP Command Center version 3.7.4829 or a later supported version.
Step 2: Install Postman (Troubleshooting Tool)
To ensure rapid support deployment and verify active network connections during testing:
Download Postman via the Official Postman Website.
Install it on the same local machine where the HP Command Center is running. This application will be used by our technical team or your network administrator if any communication troubleshooting is required.
Step 3: Install the AMFG Hub
The AMFG Hub bridges the gap between your local hardware and software and the cloud-based Management Console.
Download the AMFG Hub installation package (
AMFG_Hub.exe). Please contact Customer Success or Support to provide you with the installation file.Right-click the installer and select "Run as Administrator" to execute it with elevated permissions.
Install the hub onto the exact local computer hosting the HP Command Center Server.
Download the following files: hp config, deviceproxy.
π File Configurations & Directory Paths
To enable proper data routing between platforms, specific configuration files must be manually placed into your local directory folders.
β οΈ Note: If any folder in the paths below does not exist, create it manually. Ensure folder names are entirely in lowercase.
1. Placement of the Proxy File
Locate the proxy file provided to you during your onboarding package and place it into the following system directory:
Plaintext
C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\HP\3DSSCC
2. Placement of the Configuration (INI) File
Locate the HPCommandCenter.ini configuration file and copy it directly into your user profile AMFG Hub configuration directory:
Plaintext
C:\users\amfg\Roaming\AMFG\AMFG HUB\config
π¨οΈ Production Verification
Once all installations are finalized and files are correctly mapped:
Prepare a test build file paired with its respective slice file.
Run this test build on your physical HP 3D printer.
Monitor your cloud AMFG Management Console to confirm that real-time callbacks are triggering, and that printing stage changes (e.g., Preparing, Printing, Completed) are updating seamlessly on your production board.
If printing status updates fail to show in your Management Console after following these steps, please contact your AMFG Account Manager or open a Support Ticket.
