AMFG and Autodesk have teamed up to make additive manufacturing workflows much smoother and easier to manage. By connecting AMFG’s execution platform with Autodesk Fusion, users can handle build prep, nesting, and production in one place, with data syncing automatically in the background. This means less manual work, fewer errors, and a clearer view of what’s happening at every stage of the process.
Key Benefits of the Integration
The plugin is designed to accelerate the build preparation process through several core features:
Bidirectional Associativity: If you add a part in AMFG, it automatically reflects in Fusion; if you add parts in Fusion, they automatically reflect in AMFG.
Efficient Nesting: Users can manage and accelerate the nesting and build preparation process.
Simultaneous Management: You can have multiple builds open simultaneously and publish updates back to AMFG.
How to Set Up the Plugin
To begin using the integration, follow these primary steps to connect your software:
1. Configure AMFG Connect
In your AMFG Connect settings, log in with your MC account and select Autodesk Fusion as the installed software.
2. Add the Plugin to Fusion
In the Fusion Manufacture workspace, go to Add-Ins and click the + icon.
Select "Script or add-in from device".
Navigate to the file path. Select “C:\ProgramFiles\AMFG\ AMFG Connect\fusion-addin.”
Ensure you check "Run on Startup".
Note: Ensure you are updated to the latest AMFG Connect version, 0.7.3. If the system does not automatically suggest the update, please contact your AMFG representative.
Managing Your Production Workflow
Once installed, you can handle your builds through two primary methods:
1. Opening a Build from AMFG
Navigate to Production → Create a Build to access builds with assigned parts. Click "Send to AMFG Desktop Agent" to open the build in Fusion, where you can add or remove parts and save nested or sliced files.
2. Creating a New Build in Fusion
Access the AMFG plugin in Fusion under Manufacture → Additive. From here, you can create new builds and add parts that were already imported into AMFG via the "Available for Assignment" tab.
