Overview
The Shipping Date feature allows your customers to specify the exact date they want their manufactured parts delivered directly through the Customer Portal. When enabled, this field captures customer timeline requirements early in the quoting stage, seamlessly feeding that data into your internal production workflows.
How to Add the Shipping Date Field
To make the Shipping Date field visible to your users on quotation forms, log in to your Management Console and follow these steps:
Navigate to Management Console -> Settings -> Quotation Forms -> Open your active Quotation Form.
Under the Define Fields section, click the + Add field button.
Select Shipping Date from the dropdown menu.
(Optional) Use the drag-and-drop method to reorder the fields and place the Shipping Date exactly where you want it to appear on your form.
Dynamic Lead Time Calculation
To ensure that customers cannot select unachievable deadlines, the AMFG platform automatically restricts the calendar selection. The system dynamically calculates the earliest possible delivery date by factoring in the following parameters:
Production Lead Time + Services Lead Time + Exclude non-working days + Cut-off time + Shipping Allowance Days
Note: Non-working days and Cut-off time are configured on the Operating Hours & Holidays page.
Please refer to this article for a more detailed guide about Lead Times configuration.
Where It Appears (User Interface Preview)
Once activated, the Shipping Date parameter is synchronized and displayed across multiple touchpoints in the application workflow:
1. The Customer Portal (Front-End)
Your customers will see a Shipping Date calendar picker in their configuration sidebar while customizing their parts or reviewing their basket.
2. Internal Tickets & Work Orders
For your internal engineering and administrative teams, the chosen deadline is automatically populated inside the Production Parameters widget on the Ticket/Order details page. This value can be manually updated or overwritten internally if manufacturing timelines shift.
