The 3D viewer has undergone significant improvements to allow it to intelligently identify CNC features in any uploaded model.
CNC features visualisation
CNC features of the part can be displayed in the CAD viewer by enabling the “Show CNC features” option:
The system can recognize the following features:
Plane
Island
Pocket
Hole
Drilled hole
Each feature has its own parameter :
Depth:
Profile Area:
Length:
Blend (bottom)
Blend (top)
Pricing calculation based on the Production Time
Another big improvement is having a pricing formula based on the CNC parameters.
Such a formula can be created by following these steps:
1) Make sure you have added the CNC technology for at least one Machine in Settings -> Production Parameters -> Machines tab. After that, please navigate to the Materials tab and assign Materials to that CNC machine, respectively.
2) Add CNC technology for your quotation form in Settings -> Quotation Forms page:
3) Navigate to Write Formulas and open the “Production Time” tab. The structure of the formula for “Production Time” is the same as for the “Pricing” tab:
The formula’s condition can be based on the following CNC features:
Plane
Island
Pocket
Hole
Drilled hole
CNC-specific parameters can also be added to the formula:
After the condition and formula are added for the “Production Time” tab, the user should add the “Manufacturing Time” variable for the Pricing tab. The “Manufacturing Time” variable will be calculated based on the formula in the “Production Time” variable:
For example, let's create a simple production time formula that is based on plane and pocket CNC features:
The Manufacturing Time variable is added to the pricing formula:
The system detected 7 CNC features: 6 plane features and one pocket. The price based on the production time, in this case, will be £350 (production time formula x number of detected features).
Additionally, the system allows creating the pricing formula using different variables to provide as much flexibility as possible:
