Activity Log Widget

This is a guide for users that explains how to track order history, audit manual changes, and monitor automated system events using the Activity Log.

Written by AMFG Consulting & Support

The Activity Log is a vital communication and auditing tool within the AMFG platform, located within the Communication section of individual tickets. It provides a chronological record of events, manual updates, and automated actions associated with a specific project or part.

You can find the Activity Log widget in the middle of the Ticket/Work Order Details or Part Preparation pages.

Key Features and Tracked Events

The Activity Log automatically captures a wide range of actions to ensure transparency throughout the quoting and production process:

  • Status Tracking via Workflow Rules: The Activity Log automatically records when a Part or Ticket (Order) status is changed through an automated Workflow Rule. This ensures a clear audit trail of system-driven updates, such as when a specific production milestone triggers a status advancement.

  • Estimation and Quoting: Records when a part was estimated in-house and lists the specific production parameters applied, such as technology, material, and quantities.

  • Manual Updates: Specifically highlights when a part price or parameters have been manually updated by a user rather than by the system's automated pricing engine by hovering over the timestamp in the top-right corner of the log.

  • Document History: Reflects every instance when a PDF document has been printed in the Ticket/Work Order.

  • Shipping and Deadlines: Logs an entry whenever an item's Shipping Deadline is manually adjusted within a Work Order.

  • Communication Records: Logs specific interactions, such as a customer's requests for a quote, emails to request changes (e.g., tolerance updates), and the subsequent confirmation of those updates.

Using the Activity Log for Collaboration

The log is situated alongside Messages and Production Notes, forming a complete communication suite:

  • Audit Trail: Use it to verify who made specific changes to production parameters and when those changes occurred.

  • Data Extraction Transparency: When using Sentinel AI PDF Extraction, the Activity Log will confirm if the file was "Successfully analyzed" and list the key data points extracted from the drawing's title block.

  • Status Synchronization: Updates to Part or Ticket information are reflected here in real-time, ensuring that all internal users and, where applicable, connected partners see the same single source of truth.
