Integrating Google Analytics into your AMFG platform provides valuable insights into how customers interact with your front-end ordering portal. By tracking user behavior, you can identify "hot leads," measure the success of marketing campaigns, and optimize your pricing strategy based on which technologies and materials are being viewed most frequently.

Phase 1: Configure Your Google Analytics Account

Before connecting to AMFG, you must set up a property within Google Analytics to receive the data.

  1. Log into your Google Analytics account.

  2. Navigate to Admin and click + Create to start a new Account or Property.

  3. Enter an Account Name (e.g., "3D Printing") and click Next.

  4. Enter a Property Name (e.g., "3D Printing Service") and complete the business details and objectives sections.

  5. Under "Start collecting data," select Web as your platform.

  6. Enter your Website URL—this must be the exact URL where your AMFG front-end portal is embedded.

  7. Click Create and continue.

  8. Locate and Copy your unique Measurement ID (usually starts with "G-").

Phase 2: Connect Analytics to the AMFG Console

Once you have your Measurement ID, you need to input it into your AMFG settings to enable the data stream.

  1. Log into your AMFG Management Console.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Portal Settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Analytics section.

  4. Select the Google Analytics radio button.

  5. Paste your Measurement ID into the provided field.

  6. Click Save.

Advanced Tracking: Custom Dimensions

To get more granular data—such as specific button clicks or file upload events—you can create Custom Dimensions in Google Analytics that match AMFG’s event tags.

  1. In Google Analytics, go to Admin > Custom Definitions.

  2. Click Create custom dimension.

  3. Create a dimension named event_label with the Scope set to Event.

  4. Create a second dimension named event_action with the Scope set to Event.

  5. Click Save.

Once these steps are complete, data will begin feeding into your Google Analytics Real-time Overview reports as customers interact with your portal.
