AMFG Connect: Desktop Agent Overview & Installation

AMFG Connect is a dedicated desktop (PC) application designed to bridge the gap between the AMFG Management Console and industry-standard build preparation software: Materialise Magics, Ultimaker Cura, and Formlabs PreForm. By integrating these tools, users can significantly increase build preparation efficiency and ensure a seamless flow of data between quoting, production management, and the actual printing process.

Note: AMFG Connect and its associated software integrations are provided as a separate license. To activate this feature, please contact AMFG Support at support@amfg.ai or speak with your AMFG Consultant.

Key Capabilities

AMFG Connect acts as an automated agent that emulates user actions to perform the following tasks:

  • Open Individual Parts: Send a single part file directly from a Ticket or Project Details page into Magics, Cura, or PreForm.

  • Open Complete Builds: Open an entire build, including all assigned items and their correct quantities, in your chosen preparation software.

  • Automated Build Upload (Magics Only): Automatically upload prepared builds from Magics back to AMFG in .magics or .3mf formats.

  • Build Synchronization (Magics Only): * Add Items: If new parts are added to a build in AMFG after the initial preparation, they can be pushed into the existing Magics build.

    • Remove Items: If items are removed within Magics, AMFG Connect can update the corresponding build in AMFG to reflect those changes.
