Every user received an email from us earlier this year outlining the change and action required to whitelist their domain with AMFG. If you have not yet carried out the changes, please read below and take action as soon as possible.
Note that you might need to forward this on to your IT department or someone responsible for your IT or Email systems.

Email whitelisting is the service that allows you to send emails from AMFG to your customers using your company's email address. The service also ensures that emails sent to your customers don't land up in their spam/ junk mailboxes.

Beginning on 15 March 2024 (extended from the original date of February 2024), there will be new domain authentication (security) requirements that you'll need to take action on to ensure your emails continue to be sent and to keep them out of spam.

Why is this?

Google and Yahoo, and some other mail providers, recently announced new email-sending requirements that will take effect in March 2024. This is being done to reduce the occurrence of email spoofing or scams.

What do I need to do?

To ensure that your emails continue to be sent seamlessly from AMFG, you are required to update your DKIM records and enact a DMARC policy on any email-sending domain that you might be using. Failure to update this will result in emails being rejected (not sent) once the change goes live. Note that this is not a change that we are enforcing, but rather the before-mentioned mail providers. Thus, we have no influence on the change or the timing, and so it is important that you act swiftly to avoid disruption.

But don't worry, we’re here to help out! Below are all the instructions on how to apply the required updates.

These changes are applied to your email domain’s DNS settings. Please reach out to your email or domain provider if you are unsure where to make these updates.

DKIM

Create two CNAME records:

  • One with the name: mte1._domainkey.yourdomain.com and with the value: dkim1.mandrillapp.com

  • One with the name: mte2._domainkey.yourdomain.com and with the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com

DMARC

Create and save a TXT record in your DNS with the name: _dmarc.yourdomain.com and with the value v=DMARC1; p=none

In the above DKIM and DMARC instructions, replace yourdomain.com with the domain you're setting up. Some domain hosts automatically add yourdomain.com after the initial value—contact your domain provider for any specifics.

For further reference, please review the detailed guidelines for the two most globally used providers below:

For Google:

For Microsoft Outlook:

This should be everything you need to update. Although it is only a small change, it will have a large impact if not done, so it is very important to address this promptly.

If you have any further questions, please contact support@amfg.ai who will also be able to confirm if the settings have been updated and applied correctly.
